Brenda is a senior executive coach, facilitator, and expert in leadership transitions. She collaborates with corporate, non-profit, and public sector leaders to help them achieve personal and organizational goals. She has broad experience coaching executives from many different cultures who need to lead, manage, and communicate across country borders. Brenda’s background in behaviour change helps people develop concrete and realistic plans. Her ability to unlock the highest potential in individuals, teams, and organizations is a direct result of her enthusiasm for learning and over 20 years of experience.
In her work with individuals, Brenda has helped leaders’ transition to new responsibilities; discover new sources of motivation; engage and develop their teams; and expand their sphere of influence. One of the key ways in which she enables leaders to make changes is by exploring and challenging their assumptions as well as understanding the nuances in their role. Through this approach Brenda has helped, for example, a senior leader at a fast moving consumer goods company fully engage his team, develop his successor and receive a promotion; and assisted a new director of an NGO make a complete transition into his role, set a vision for his division and impact international health policy.
Brenda has also worked with teams to achieve higher performance. She helped a division of a large medical device company understand and leverage its diversity and a newly formed telecommunications management team connect with each other and establish shared goals.
Brenda serves as a senior and lead coach at International Institute for Management Development (IMD). The Financial times has ranked IMD a top 3 business schools for executive education for 8 years in a row. She is also a Leadership Consultant for Genesis, a company specializing in leadership transitions based on the First 90 Days research of Michael Watkins. For 10 years, Brenda taught and directed an individual and group effectiveness course for EMBAs at the University of Lausanne. In addition to working with a wide range of industries, Brenda has substantial experience working with NGOs including The Global Fund, WHO, UNOCHA and the ICRC. At the WHO, Brenda has works with senior level directors (the highest-level staff positions) and at the ICRC she is coaching a member of the directorate.
Prior to starting her own company, Brenda held a faculty appointment at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey, USA, where she led education, professional development, and outreach services for the Environmental Health Sciences Institute. Brenda holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Michigan and an undergraduate degree in biology- psychology from Skidmore College. She has been certified as an executive coach by the Institute of Leadership and Management in the UK.
Based in Switzerland, Brenda works with clients all over the world, both in person and virtually.
