3 Speakers You Really Don’t Want to Miss at TLNT’s Transform Conference

Here’s a question I get asked by people a lot: why should I attend the TLNT Transform conference next February in Austin, Texas?

I give a lot of different answers to that including that Transform, unlike so many other events, is forward-looking and will focus on what you need to do to succeed in the future, not just today. But mostly, I tell them they should attend Transform because of all the great speakers and presenters on the agenda.

You may have heard already about Billy Beane, the general manager of major league baseball’s Oakland A’s, who will give the inside scoop about the Moneyball approach to talent management, but as good as he is, there are a lot of other speakers who have some pretty interesting things to say as well.

Need some examples? Here are three good ones:

  • Margaret MorfordI found out about Margaret when I read an article she had written that had some great insights into the state of HR today. She’s an honest-to-God management expert who has a Tennessee-based international consulting and training company, The HR Edge. Margaret is known for telling it like it is, and her presentation in Austin at Transform — HR Fiddles While Organizations Burn — promises to be just as frank and forthright.
  • Tim SackettTim is not only a provocative and popular contributor here at TLNT (yes, he’s the Dancing Monkey guy), but he is also a veteran HR pro who runs HRU Technical Resources, a contingent staffing company in Lansing, MI. Tim’s topic at Transform is, of course, as provocative as he is — it’s on What Your CEO Wished HR Would Do. That’s a subject I think we all want to hear about.
  • Libby Sartain — It’s hard to know what to say about Libby because there is so much you can say given that she’s an HR legend in her own right. A former chair of the SHRM Board of Directors, Libby is famous for her work as Chief HR Officer at Yahoo! and before that, at Southwest Airlines. Currently a business advisor and board member of both ManpowerGroup and Peet’s Coffee & Tea, Libby will talk at Transform about The New Consumer of Work, and how you can help lead your organization ahead by treating your workers more like consumers and less like employees.

Of course, there are a lot more great speakers at the TLNT Transform conference in Austin, Texas Feb. 26-28, 2012 — too many to list here.

But you should keep in mind that the Transform conference has been designed to prepare you for the challenges and changes you’ll be facing tomorrow and beyond, not just about what you should be doing in the here and now. And, you’ll hear from great speakers and talent management professionals who are experts — like Billy Beane, Margaret Morford, Tim Sackett, and Libby Sartain — in how to use smart talent management practices to transform a business to help deal with challenges we all face moving ahead in this difficult economy.

A deal to make it worthwhile to attend

Because we really want you to join us in February in Austin, here’s a great deal to make it worth your while to attend Transform: if you sign up now, you will not only get the early bird price of $1195 (a $400 discount), but if you use the discount code TF12TLNT when you register, you’ll save an additional $150 off the already discounted registration fee. Just go to the Transform website and register here.

Austin is known as a pretty cool place, and February is a great time to be there. Not only will you get great, forward-looking HR and talent management thinking and content at Transform, but you Austin in February is south and warm just in case you live someplace north and cold and think you’ll be ready for a break by the time late February rolls around.

So, there’s no good reason NOT to attend Transform. Will I see you there in Austin this coming February? I hope so, because the great lineup of speakers we have planned is something you will simply not want to miss.
