The last time I wrote a post like this one, I called ERE Media a labor of love. That is still as true today as it was then.
It was a labor of love for me when the company was just me working nights after work in my basement, and it’s a labor of love for our team today, working in eight different states around the U.S.
And so I’m delighted to announce that I am rejoining the team at ERE as CEO.
Our mission at ERE is to educate talent acquisition and HR professionals. Today, you probably know us by our publications — ERE, TLNT, and SourceCon. You also know our events, the ERE Conference and SourceCon. All of these brands have deep roots in our community, and we’ve worked hard to constantly reinvent them and bring new voices to the fore of our profession.
But there’s more to that story. Today, ERE Media isn’t just a media company. We’re a media company that has incubated a data services startup inside our organization, with the same company mission — educating our profession.
We’ve designed an online training course that has received rave reviews and that hundreds of TA professionals are using to become Talent Advisors to their organizations. We’ve developed a benchmarking service that sifts through the big data in your ATS in order to give you real insights on how your organization is performing against quality, speed, and productivity metrics and how you might be at a competitive disadvantage.
Best of all, we’ve done all of these things while retaining our independence and making sure that the interests of our profession come first.
All this would never have happened without Ron Mester. I am grateful to him for setting us on this path, and for teaching me and the rest of the team here so much. Ron’s next step will take him to our partner Brightfield Strategies, where we will continue to work closely together.
I’ve always been an entrepreneur at heart. ERE Media has become a startup again, and I’m excited to be back.
Listening to the community continues to be at the heart of what we do, and it is feedback from people like you that continues to drive our innovation and products. In the coming weeks, I am going to be reaching out to many old friends in the profession, and I hope to have many conversations with new friends as well. Here’s my Linkedin, my Twitter, and my email address is david(at)ere.net. I’d love to hear from you.
