Hiring the right person is all about making the best choice and there is a new book out called Decisive: How to Make Better Choices in Life and Work.
When it comes to making choices, the authors suggest the WRAP method:
W: Widen your options
R: Realty-test your assumptions
A: Attain distance before you decide
P: Prepare to be wrong
The authors also talk about the most-used method to make decisions. It is based on a suggestion by Ben Franklin (to a person who had two jobs to consider) to list all the reasons “for” and all the reasons “against.”
The problem with this technique is that the mind will skew the results based on what it feels we want the outcome to be.
