It’s that time of year at CareerBuilder.
Yep, yep. We’ve got ourselves the list of the most unusual holiday gifts exchanged at work.
Now, I’m a gift giver at work. According to the CareerBuilder survey, I’m just the one in five who do buy holiday gifts for co-workers.
It also says that of the people who do exchange gifts at work, the majority (80 percent) expect to spend no more than $25 on each gift, 36 percent will spend no more than $10, and 9 percent will cap themselves off at $5.
So, if you’re one of those folks who try to get the most bang for your workplace-gift-giving buck, check out the list of the most unusual holiday gifts below. And avoid them all. Like the Philadelphia 76ers avoid wins. Like the Olsen Twins avoid a Full House reunion.
Best of the worst gifts
Here are the “best” —
- A squirrel toilet seat decal;
- A pair of Christmas socks that look like elf feet;
- A roll of duct tape;
- A bell on a string;
- A mystery bag with a coat in it;
- A giant heart-shaped box of candy … from last Valentine’s Day;
- A picture of a bear;
- A bowling ball;
- Homemade sausages;
- A ceramic sheep you can dress up seasonally;
Have you received an unusual holiday gift at work? Maybe something more unusual than the items on the list above — and, preferably something that didn’t lead to a workplace lawsuit. Hit me up and let me know in the comments below.
