There’s an art to interviewing, and as anyone who has ever been on a job interview knows, sometimes the questions you get asked aren’t all that artful.

As someone who lived through the period when some interviewers were into asking silly stuff like, “If you could be a criminal, what type would you be?”  I know first-hand that a really skilled interviewer can squeeze a lot of great information out of a job interview.

That’s why this post over on our sister website ERE.net is so interesting. It’s about 60 Interview Questions but it could easily be called 60 GREAT Interview Questions because these are some of the things YOU should be thinking about and asking when you interview that next candidate. As the post says:

You’ll find in the interview questions below some you are asking already, some you haven’t been but would like to, and others that just don’t fit for your company and your jobs.

These interview questions are used by permission from Job Interview Skills 101, the Course You Forgot to Take For New Grads and College Students.

Comment on any, or add your own interview questions to share in the comments section.

  1. Tell me about a time when you were a member of a great team. What role did you play in making the team great?
  2. Tell me about a time when you were given a task to accomplish without any direction.”
